Divrash Dam and planning to supply drinking water to five cities of Guilan province within next summer (November 29, 2023)

A follow-up meeting of the implementation of the Divarash dam was held at the site of this dam in the presence of Khorrami, the CEO of Guilan Regional Water Company and other officials of Rudbar city and Guilan province located in the north of Iran. Representatives of the Rayab Consulting Engineers, and the contractor were also present in this meeting.

Referring to the recent trip of the Minister of Energy to Guilan province on November 25, 2023 and visiting water resources projects in the province and determining to speed up the implementation of these projects, Khorrami noted: has been decided to speed up the implementation progress of different dams’ projects, including Divarash Dam and it was emphasized that by the next summer, we should see the first fill of the reservoir of this important dam for Guilan province and Rudbar city.

Khorrami pointed out that less than 30% of the dam is left to be completed and said: the construction project of the Divaresh Dam has achieved 70% physical progress so far, and with the completion of the construction of this dam, drinking water problems in 5 cities and nearby villages will be solved.

Managing Director of Guilan Regional Water Company, pointing out that with the establishment of Divaresh Dam, drinking water will be supplied to five cities of Lushan, Manjil, Rudbar, Tutkabon and Rostamabad, as well as 28 subordinate villages.

He continued: provision of environmental flow requirements in downstream of the dam is also foreseen.

In this meeting, various problems of the Divarash dam project, including the release of land and the supply of stone materials, the supply of cement, and the provision of financial resources, and the activities need to speed up the implementation of this project, were discussed and emphasized.

In this meeting, Parsaeian, the project manager of Rayab Company, presented a report on the current status of executive operations and then explained the activities and measures needed to achieve the set goal of first fill of the dam reservoir by the next summer. In addition, he listed the limitations, obstacles and problems faced. Later, during the questions and answers of the members present in the meeting, Mohammadi Shooreh, the director of supervision affairs, answered the technical questions and explained the technical issues of the dam.
